I am delighted to introduce you to our new informative website and to invite you to discover more about life in St. Mary's Primary School.
St Mary's is situated in the townland of Derrytrasna, on the southern shore of Lough Neagh.
In our school we are committed to providing an excellent all round education for every child entrusted to our care. We aim to provide a caring school environment where each individual child is encouraged to respect themselves, others in the school community and the wider community.
I hope you enjoy visiting the different pages of our website and seeing the opportunities available to our children.

⏱️12:30 - 1:15pm
📍Wolfe Tones 3G
This is an inclusive programme designed for children & adults with additional needs. Siblings are also welcome to take part in our training sessions.
The aim of the programme is similar to any underage GAA coaching session - have fun, make friends, be part of a team and learn the skills of Gaelic Football.
Our coaches are not only qualified to coach GAA but they have undertaken additional training to help ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of all players.
New members are always welcome.
Feel free to come down & watch and speak to any of our trained coaches.

We are so proud of Enda and his team as they reach the Northern Ireland Cup Final on 4th May against Portadown. After a fantastic 3–2 semi‑final win over Linfield, Enda will captain his side once again. He’ll also be attending a media day in Cookstown this Sunday ahead of the big match. An amazing achievement and a huge moment for such talent from a small rural school! Best of luck to Enda and the whole team, we will be cheering you along.⚽️⚽️

Congratulations to our wonderful Primary 7 pupils who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this evening. ✨
It was a very special and memorable celebration and we are so proud of each and every one of you on this important step in your faith journey.
A sincere thank you to Fr Fitzpatrick for leading the service and to all of our staff for their support and dedication in helping the children prepare so well.
Well done P7! 👏
Our P3/4 class had a fantastic day visiting the Ulster Museum in Belfast as part of our WAU topic! 🦖🦋✨
The children loved exploring the wide range of creatures on display and were especially excited to learn all about dinosaurs and fossils during an engaging workshop. They also took part in a fun and interactive storytelling session, where their imaginations really came to life!
A brilliant day full of learning, discovery, and creativity. Well done P3/4! 👏
Well done to Daire and Shea Murphy, the Gallagher children, and our youngest helper, Darragh Garland, for representing our school at the Derrytrasna litter pick this weekend and helping to collect eight full bags of rubbish.
A big shout‑out as well to all the community members who took part — amazing work by everyone. 🌍🚮👏🏼
Happy St Patrick’s Day☘️💚
Our children had great fun celebrating Green Day. They all even had a go at some Irish dancing- lots of smiles, laughter and impressive footwork! 🎶
