Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to our new informative website and to invite you to discover more about life in St. Mary’s Primary School.

St Mary’s is a rural primary school situated in the townland of Derrytrasna, on the southern shore of Lough Neagh.

In our school we are committed to providing an excellent all round education for every child entrusted to our care. We aim to provide a caring school environment where each individual child is encouraged to respect themselves, others in the school community and the wider community.

News

Sustrans end of year assembly

Primary 7 entertained the school today with their assembly on all the school have done this year to gain the Silver Sustrans award. Well done to everyone for winning the silver award.

Term 3 Milk

Milk for term 3 will begin on Tuesday May 2nd and cost £8.40.

Parent Information Sessions

The family learning organisation and the school are providing information evenings for parents (P.4-7).

The first session begins tonight.

  1. 17th October- Introduction and parenting styles.
  2. 24th October- Learning/thinking and the brain.
  3. 7th November- Supporting children’s language and reading.
  4. 14th November- Practical Maths to help your child.
  5. 21st November- More practical Maths to help your child.
  6. 28th November- Positive parenting, supporting homework and managing children’s behaviour

New Pupils

School News

The school has been successful in their application for funding from “Awards for all”. A grant of £9993 has been awarded to fund:-

*25 I-Pads

*Activ Panel Touch screen- 75inch

*Additional wireless access point

This is great news for the school.
