I am delighted to welcome you to our new informative website and to invite you to discover more about life in St. Mary’s Primary School.

St Mary’s is a rural primary school situated in the townland of Derrytrasna, on the southern shore of Lough Neagh.

In our school we are committed to providing an excellent all round education for every child entrusted to our care. We aim to provide a caring school environment where each individual child is encouraged to respect themselves, others in the school community and the wider community.

Primary six entertained the school this morning with their assembly explaining the Holy Trinity.

Q Radio & Dale Farm Competition Fun

A fantastic morning full of fun was had by all today when Q Radio and Dale Farm joined us this morning to broadcast live from the school grounds. Cate and Stephen from the Q Radio breakfast show and Dale farm provided the parents and teachers with free goodie bags and each one of the children were given a lunch box, toy and a free Dale Farm/Dromona breakfast of crackers, cheese and a drink. Thanks very much to Q Radio and Dale Farm.

Q Radio Schools Competition

Q Radio Breakfast Show will be broadcasting live from our school grounds this Thursday 7th September after the school was chosen as the winners of their Dromona Schools competition. They will be on the grounds from 5am and will broadcast live from 6am until 10am. Some of the children may get the opportunity to get inside the Q Radio bus from 10am until 11am. We are looking forward to an enjoyable morning. We hope you all tune in!

We welcome to our school the new Primary one pupils. We hope they will enjoy their time in St. Mary's Primary School.

Pupil of the Year

This years winner of the 'Adele Madden outstanding contribution award' is Jonathan Coaker. Jonathan is a very deserving winner and is a great role model for all our pupils. This year he has represented the school very well, helping us win our fourth ECO green flag and the silver Sustrans award. Congratulations Jonathan.
