Welcome

Welcome to St. Mary's Primary School Website.

I am delighted to introduce you to our new informative website and to invite you to discover more about life in St. Mary's Primary School.

St Mary's is situated in the townland of Derrytrasna, on the southern shore of Lough Neagh.

In our school we are committed to providing an excellent all round education for every child entrusted to our care. We aim to provide a caring school environment where each individual child is encouraged to respect themselves, others in the school community and the wider community.

I hope you enjoy visiting the different pages of our website and seeing the opportunities available to our children.

The Primary 6 children had a fantastic taster day at St Ronan’s today. They explored the geography department, enjoyed playing rugby and football, and were treated to performances from some amazing musicians. It was a great opportunity for them to experience the school and see whether it feels like the right fit for them.πŸ“šβœοΈπŸ“šπŸšŒ@

What a fantastic way to celebrate the end of the school year! 🌟 Our P1–P4 children had an amazing day at Mount Panther Farm, making wonderful memories with their friends. They loved meeting and petting the animals, feeding the goats and even getting up close to the wallabies in the wallaby enclosure. There was plenty of excitement too, with lots of fun on the bouncy castles, bouncy pillows, go-karts and ride-on vehicles. The smiles and laughter throughout the day showed just how much everyone enjoyed the trip! A huge thank you to the staff at Mount Panther Farm for a fantastic experience and to everyone who helped make the day such a success. What a wonderful way to finish the school year! πŸπŸ¦˜πŸšœπŸŽ‰

Our Primary 7 pupils had a fantastic day taking part in the Bee Safe event, where they learned valuable life skills to help keep themselves safe as they prepare for the transition to post-primary school. We were fortunate to hear from a range of organisations, including the PSNI, Fire & Rescue Service, PIPS, Translink and representatives delivering important kitchen safety advice. The pupils engaged brilliantly with each workshop, gaining knowledge and confidence in areas such as personal safety, online safety, mental health and wellbeing, fire safety, safe travel and accident prevention. A huge thank you to all of the presenters for sharing their expertise and helping to make the day both educational and memorable. πŸ‘πŸ»
